This is a 1950-60's-era Attitude Gyro Horizon Indicator as used in early versions of the US Navy/Marine Corps Jet Fighter/Attack Aircraft Douglas A4D-1 Skyhawk

See photo from the B 47B Flight Manual showing the location of this instrument. It has date stamp of November 1950. It is in exceptional condition given its age. The dial markings are clear and the glass and case are intact.
