it was quite dirty so I thought I would trying washing it -  I was really a bit concerned about doing so as  I knew it was vintage & wasn’t sure how it would really react to a machine washing - it’s hard to believe but all the soiling which looked as though it had been dropped on the floor in addition to hanger soiling which is the hardest to get out actually came out & it washed beautifully
